1. What is the TOEFL test?

Test of English as a Foreign Language is a Standardized test that evaluates the English Proficiency of people whose native language is not English. Nearly 2400 education institutes in the United States and Canada require TOEFL® scores from each applicant. The test is also used by institutions in other countries where English is the language of Instruction

The TOEFL test is developed and administered by the US-based "Educational Testing Service" (ETS).

4. For whom is the test designed and what is the mode of exam?

TOEFL is a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT).
TOEFL is an exam that determines whether a student whose native language is not English has enough spoken, written and heard skills to succeed in courses at a college or university in US or Canada. In addition, many government agencies, scholarship programs, and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.

5. Who administers the test in India and where are the examination centers? 

The test is administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS).

6. How is my score determined and what is the validity of the score?

The scoring for a computer-adaptive test or section is based on the difficulty level of the items through pre-testing, the examinee's performance on the items, and the number of items answered. The examinee typically gets more credit for correctly answering a difficult question than for correctly answering an easy question.

7. What is the validity of the scores?

The score is valid for 2 years.
