Canada
Contrary to most prevalent perceptions about Degrees and Diplomas in India, Canadian education comprises mainly of degrees and diplomas that are recognized globally.
Canada offers choices to students with different aptitudes and backgrounds. On one hand, a student desiring of acquiring a vocational skill can pursue a diploma. Alternatively, a student may take on a professional or academic degree.
PROGRAMS
Diplomas: The Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas are granted by a college or university after the satisfactory completion of a 1-2 year full time. They break the confines of didactic learning and enable students to work as skilled professionals.
Associate Degrees: They are awarded by a community college or university after the successful completion of a 2 year full time.
Bachelor’s Degree: They are awarded by a college or university after the successful completion of 3- 4 year full time.
Master’s Degrees: Academic and professional degree programs are offered both by colleges and universities. They are of 2-3 years of duration.
Doctoral Degrees: They are based on original research piece of a student and are offered by Universities. It may take additional 2-3 years post Master’s degree for completion.
TUITION FEES:
The cost of studying at Canadian Colleges may range from CAD 10,000-12,000. Tuition fees for most universities range from CAD 18,000-22,000.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
As diverse as its culture, the Canadian system of education too is an amalgamation of the education systems of both USA and UK. Entry requirements may vary from institution to institution. 3-4 years of education may be required for entry into Master’s programs. Similarly, a university may or may not require any standardized test.
Generally, a minimum score of 6.0 band on IELTS for Undergraduate and 6.5 band for Graduate studies is required for admission. |
